Our Infinite Fates Book Review
Share
It’s been a long time since a book completely swept me off my feet the way Our Infinite Fates did, and if you stumbled upon this review after reading my review for The Seven Year Slip know that I had read that one after Our Infinite Fates, so I was lucky to have two books almost back to back that captivated me completely. This story isn’t just a five-star read—it’s a ten-out-of-five, stop-what-you’re-doing, fully-immersive kind of experience. From the very first chapter, I was hooked. So hooked, in fact, that I had to pause reading—reluctantly—because I had ARC deadlines looming, and I knew this story would consume me entirely. And I was right. This isn’t the kind of book you read while juggling others. It demands your full attention, your full heart—and it rewards you for it.
Once I returned to it, I fell headfirst back into the story. I was completely submerged in its world, and it quickly became one of the most memorable reading experiences I’ve had in the past two years.
Laura Steven has crafted something incredibly special here. The multiverse concept is executed with thoughtfulness and creativity, and the way she navigates shifting timelines, bodies, and settings is seamless. You’re never confused—you’re captivated. Every new chapter deepens the world and the emotional pull. The writing flows effortlessly, making it easy to devour page after page while still appreciating the intricacies of the plot and characters.
At the heart of it all are Arden and Evelyn—star-crossed lovers doomed to die before their 18th birthday in every lifetime, only to reincarnate and meet again, time after time. Their love is eternal, beautifully tragic, and endlessly compelling. Through every version of themselves, in every universe, their connection endures. Watching them find each other again and again, despite the heartbreak, despite the odds, is both gut-wrenching and life-affirming. It’s a love story that breaks you and mends you all at once.
If you’re a fantasy lover, this one is a must. It’s romantic, mind-bending, and emotionally charged. It has everything I crave in a great book: a unique concept, strong character arcs, breathtaking moments, and emotional depth that stays with you long after the last page.
Pro tip: Pair your reading with Danielle Hardie’s Spotify playlist made for the book—it elevates the entire experience. The music fits the tone so well, it felt like the soundtrack to my heart while reading.
Our Infinite Fates is more than just a story—it’s a journey, a universe-hopping, soul-searching journey that will stay with me for a long, long time. I can’t recommend it enough. It reminded me why I fell in love with reading in the first place. If you’re craving a story that pulls at your heart and stretches your imagination, this one is not to be missed. This story will stay with me for a long time—and if you give it the chance, I think it’ll stay with you too.
