Pitcher Perfect Book Review

Pitcher Perfect was such a fun and quick read—definitely one to add to your Summer TBR if you’re in the mood for something light, flirty, and entertaining. Tessa Bailey always knows how to deliver witty banter and sizzling chemistry, and this book was no exception.
We follow Skylar, who has nursed a long-time crush on Madden, the golden boy she’s admired since their school days. With her family’s annual week of games approaching, she can’t help but hope this might finally be the year Madden notices her. But things take an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Robbie, the charming troublemaker and resident womanizer. Their first meeting doesn’t exactly scream romantic destiny, but Robbie quickly decides to help Skylar catch Madden’s attention. The only problem? Somewhere along the way, Robbie realizes he doesn’t want to play wingman at all—he wants her for himself.
The setup is both playful and addictive, with plenty of humorous moments and that signature Tessa Bailey heat. Skylar and Robbie’s dynamic kept me hooked, and their chemistry was undeniable. However, the reason I didn’t rate this one a full five stars is because the last couple of chapters felt a bit too predictable compared to the fun, fast-paced energy of the rest of the book. The ending wrapped things up neatly, but it lacked the spark and surprise that had me so excited throughout most of the story.
Overall, it’s a charming, lighthearted romance with lovable characters and a satisfying dose of tension and humor. Perfect for readers looking for a breezy, romantic escape.
