Stuck With You Book Review

Stuck With You Book Review

In this story, we meet Sarah, a recently divorced mom of two who’s forced to start over after being left with nothing in the aftermath of her marriage. Thankfully, she inherits her grandmother’s house, giving her not only a roof over her head but also the distance she desperately needs from her ex and the life she once knew.

Now settled in a new town, Sarah works as a paralegal at a law firm while also studying law—a balancing act that leaves her exhausted and stretched thin. Just when she thinks things can’t get any tougher, her car begins making strange noises, and of course, it happens at the worst possible time—when money is tighter than ever. Her friend Kat recommends a local mechanic, though Sarah hesitates, worried about the cost.

Enter Slade—the quiet, brooding owner of Cal’s Garage. Life hasn’t been easy for him either. After losing his mother, Slade took on the responsibility of raising his younger sister while still a teenager himself. Add a heartbreak at one of the lowest points in his life, and it’s no surprise he’s turned into an introvert who keeps people at arm’s length. Their first meeting doesn’t go smoothly, but as fate would have it, Sarah and Slade soon discover they share more in common than either of them could have imagined.

Stuck With You was an absolute delight from start to finish. The story offered engaging characters, undeniable chemistry, playful banter, and one of the best slow burns I’ve read in a while. Beyond the romance, it delivers a powerful reminder that no one truly knows what another person is going through—only those who live it. Stacey Williams beautifully weaves a message about empathy and understanding, while also highlighting the silent sacrifices many mothers make. It’s a touching exploration of how, no matter the circumstance, a mother’s love always comes first—even when it means losing parts of herself along the way.

The pacing was flawless, with the perfect mix of tension, swoon-worthy moments, and heartfelt emotion. And yes, it’s worth repeating—the slow burn was perfection. The humor sprinkled throughout gave it a lighthearted touch that balanced the deeper themes beautifully. There wasn’t a single thing I disliked; it was pure enjoyment from beginning to end.

Stuck With You is a charming, feel-good romance that leaves you smiling long after the last page. I truly hope this becomes a series, because I’m dying to know more about some of the side characters and their stories.

If you love forced proximity, swoony chemistry, and heartwarming happily-ever-afters, this book deserves a spot on your TBR.
